KR Steakbar

Welcome to KR SteakBar, an Italian steakhouse tucked into Atlanta’s Peachtree Hills design district in ADAC West. The restaurant features a convivial bar, curated wine cellar, covered outdoor garden dining area, and a sleek, spacious dining room. The idea for the KR SteakBar was pure serendipity. Celebrity chef Kevin Rathbun and his wife Melissa were working on their new residence, and the couple’s interior designer scheduled appointments for them to explore the Miami Design District. They discovered a delightful eatery, Michael’s Genuine Cuisine , tucked among the design showrooms, filled with designers, their clients, and the stylish set. Inspired by the idea of bringing his signature brand of intensely crave-worthy fare and warm hospitality to the Atlanta design community, Chef Kevin created the winning concept guests may now experience at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center.

Opened in 2013, KR SteakBar quickly became a favorite, not only for designers and Peachtree Hills and neighboring Buckhead locals but also for food aficionados from around the city. The open kitchen gives guests a view of chefs preparing handmade pasta, prime aged steaks in sizes to suit a variety of appetites, seasonal salads, and fresh, vibrant seafood. The heart of the kitchen is an expansive wood-burning, open-hearth grill, fueled with hickory and oak, to infuse the kind of authenticity and rich flavors that come from cooking the time-honored way.

Just on the other side of the kitchen  lies the restaurant’s hidden treasure, The Bureau. Designed as a clandestine speakeasy where everyone is welcome, it features a baby grand piano, full bar, cozy booths, and bespoke art for guests who crave an even more unique experience.

The restaurant boasts a variety of private and semi-private dining accommodations for groups from corporate functions to wedding rehearsal dinners. The engaged culinary staff offers occasional cooking classes (including the ever-popular pasta-making technique classes) for guests who wish to hone their kitchen skills. Whether you’re celebrating an occasion, doing business over a delicious meal, or simply enjoying la dolce vita, KR SteakBar is ready to welcome you.
